Belper optician gives her hair the chop for charity
Anna Wheatley, an optical advisor from Belper Specsavers took the scissors to her hair in the name of fundraising for the Little Princess Trust.
For the chop
A temporary salon was set up in store where Anna had a whole eight inches snipped off her hair! Her locks will go to the Little Princess Trust which provides real-hair wigs, free of charge, to boys and girls across the UK who have lost their hair through cancer treatment.
So far, Anna and the Specsavers team have raised more than £200 for the charity but are still welcoming donations via Anna’s Just Giving page at www.justgiving.com/Anna-Wheatley.
‘The Little Princess Trust does such great work, I wanted to do my bit to help’, said Anna. I’d like to thank those who have sponsored me; I know it will go a long way for the cause.’
Andy McBride, store director, said: ‘We’re proud of Anna and incredibly grateful to all the people who have given generously so far. We would love those passing by the store to pop in and donate if they can.’
