Bath Specsavers has gone baking mad for charity and has raised more than £200 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The team in Westgate Street, Bath, invited customers and passers-by to pop in-store on Friday 30 September to be part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning – a national fundraising initiative held by Macmillan.

A word from the store director

‘Our team bake-off and cake sale was a great success,’ said store director, Phil Lodge. ‘The team went head to head to bake the cakes for the morning, and they produced some quality goodies, worthy of Great British Bake Off status. Thank you to everyone who popped into the store and donated to the cause! We appreciate all the support and are delighted to be able to donate £213 to Macmillan Cancer Support!’

The staff rose to the challenge and held a bake-off prior to the event, with all the sweet treats available for purchase, raising a total of £213. There were also a number of competitions running in return for a small donation, including spot the dots on the cake.
