Specsavers Basildon has helped children stay safe at night by donating high-visibility vests to a local Brownies group.

The store gave the vests to the 3rd Stanford-le-Hope Brownies unit to promote safety at night, during the dark evenings.

A useful donation

Emma Howes, Brownies assistant leader said: ‘We’re very grateful for these vests; as they are something we use regularly when we take the girls out of the meeting hall.

‘The safety of our children is of the utmost importance. These vests will allow the children to walk safely at night and without this donation we would have had to purchase these at great expense to the unit.’

Keeping Basildon kids visible

Store director Lee Hansford said: ‘We want to make sure that children are safe and visible at night as winter is in full swing. ‘We hope our donation will help keep parents’ minds at ease when their children are out and about with the Brownies, as the evenings remain dark.’
