Barnet Specsavers have teamed up with school pupils in the area to highlight the importance of road safety this winter.

Specsavers in Barnet and students from St Catherine’s Catholic Primary School are championing vision and visibility among road users and pedestrians, and the eyecare experts presented the young campaigners with 30 high visibility vests when they visited the school to discuss the importance of eye health.

A word from the store director

Pragna Raghwani, director of Specsavers in Barnet, said: ‘Seeing and being seen are vitally important for those using our roads and pavements all year-round, but winter is a particularly challenging time with so many people travelling in poor light conditions. That is why we have enlisted the help of our young people to help champion safe road use, and we hope they can help set an example for other pedestrians.’

A call to drivers

Specsavers is also calling on drivers to ensure their eyes are road safe by ensuring they have regular eye tests.
