Claire Storey from Bangor is a finalist in the 2016 Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition

A customer from Bangor Specsavers has been announced as a finalist in the Spectacle Wearer of the Year 2016 competition.

So easy to enter
Claire Storey from Bangor, works in fashion and is a finalist in the 45-59 age category thanks to a browse through Facebook where she stumbled across the spec-lovers competition from Specsavers. Claire comments; ‘I was having a scroll through Facebook and saw the Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition pop up. The prizes looked incredible – a holiday in New York, £10,000 cash and £1,000 of eye wear from Specsavers – so I simply uploaded a photo of myself in my glasses and thought nothing more about it until a received a call saying I was a finalist!’

Champagne celebrations
Claire met with Andrea Ridgway, store director at Specsavers Bangor in Bloomfield Shopping Centre, of which she has been a customer for three years. Andrea presented Claire with her finalist prizes, including a £150 voucher to spend in store, a finalist certificate and a lovely bottle of bubbly! Andrea commented; ‘What a fabulously fashionable finalist Claire is, we’re delighted for her! Claire is definitely one of the most stylish specs wearers in Bangor, if not Northern Ireland, so we are sure she will fly through the next rounds of the competition. Claire has all the staff from the store’s best wishes!’

Glittering Gala Ball
The next stage of the competition will see finalists from all across the UK whittled down to a final few, who will be invited to London in October for the glittering star-studded final of the 2016 Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition, which raises money each year for anti-bullying charity, Kidscape.
