Developing careers

Max Tully, who has worked at the store in Broad Street for 18 months, has recently qualified as an audiology practitioner. He will start the process to become a fully-qualified audiologist in early 2018.

Last week, Specsavers in Chatham hosted a fundraising event in store, in aid of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.

UK charity

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is a UK charity that trains dogs to alert deaf people - both adults and children - to a variety of sounds at home and in public. Each hearing dog also helps to bring a visibility to their recipient’s deafness thanks to the burgundy jackets they wear when out in public.

A Specsavers audiologists in Ross on Wye held a coffee morning for Hearing Dogs

A Specsavers audiologists in Ross-on-Wye invited locals to pause for thought on Friday 19 May and come in store to enjoy a cup of coffee in the name of charity.

Staff at the store showed their support for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People by hosting a fundraising day named PAWS for a coffee, raising £60. Local residents were invited to treat themselves to a cup of the hot stuff and a sweet treat in exchange for donations.

Specsavers stores across the country collect unwanted hearing aids to send to Sound Seekers to be recycled

Specsavers Audiologists invested £85,522 in grants to Sound Seekers over a three year period from 2015-2018, to fund the charity’s Hearing Aid Refurbishment Project (HARP).

Providing urgent care

Thanks to the investment, Specsavers has helped Sound Seekers to meet an urgent need to provide some of the poorest communities in Africa with hearing aids, which would otherwise not be available or affordable to patients who need them.
