Specsavers raises funds for Hearing Dogs charity
Specsavers has raised over £155,000 for Hearing Dogs

Specsavers Audiologists across the country are celebrating following the news that more than £155,000 has been raised in aid of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.

A long-term partnership

Donations to the charity, which trains specialist hearing dogs to work with deaf people and the hearing impaired, have come from various store fundraising initiatives and sponsorship of the Hearing Dogs Awards.

This May will mark the 10th anniversary of the partnership between Specsavers Audiologists and Hearing Dogs for Deaf people.

Praise from Dame Mary Perkins

Specsavers founder, Dame Mary Perkins, said: ‘Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is a fantastic charity which works tirelessly to match hearing dogs to those in need. The dogs really are remarkable and make such a huge difference to their recipients.

‘We are proud to support Hearing Dogs and the work that they do. They rely on donations from organisations and individuals to be able to continue supporting people with hearing problems. Stores across the country have made a great effort to raise as much money as possible so I’m delighted to hear that our donations have now reached more than £155,000 as we celebrate 10 years of the partnership, and I look forward to more fundraising over the years to come.’
