Members of staff at Specsavers in Ashby swapped specs for wooden spoons in November, whipping up some delicious cakes and bakes to raise funds for Children in Need.
The team held a cupcake sale in store as well as a ‘guess the weight of the cake’ competition. Customers and passers-by were invited into the store for a treat in exchange for a charitable donation, with more than £85 raised.
Making a difference
Store director Leon Wilson said: ‘Children in Need is a brilliant charity and one that we were more than happy to support. We’ve got some very talented bakers in store so there were plenty of delicious treats to go around.’
Alongside the bake sale and cake competition, staff swapped their usual uniforms in favour of polka dot outfits.
‘The money we raised will go towards making a difference in the lives of disadvantaged children across the UK, so I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who came along and donated on the day.’
