The team at Specsavers in Ashby de la Zouch is asking residents to dig deep in support of Comic Relief as two brave members of staff take on hair raising challenges to raise funds.
Customers visiting the store on Red Nose Day (Friday 24 March) will be able to enjoy a range of delicious home-baked treats while watching optical advisor, James Cook, have his legs waxed to encourage extra donations.
James will be joined the following day by store director, Raj Patel, who will be braving a head shave to raise funds for the charity.
‘Comic Relief is such a great cause and makes a huge difference to the lives of so many. Losing our hair is a small price to pay to raise money for this brilliant charity,’ Raj commented.
The team are also encouraging customers to take part in this year’s Comic Relief theme, #giveusawave, with Specsavers’ official Red Nose Day glasses. The glasses, available in store now, come in adult and child sizes and cost just £2, with all money donated to Comic Relief.
Raj continued: ‘I think James may have got the raw end of the deal with having his legs waxed, but he is just as eager to grin and bear it to raise more money. I’d like to urge all our customers to visit us in store on Friday and Saturday to support Comic Relief.’
Specsavers in Ashby has joined other stores nationwide to support Comic Relief to help poor and vulnerable people living tough lives both here in the UK and across Africa and pledged to raise at least £250,000 for the charity.
