The team at Specsavers in Ashy is working hard to help provide urgent and essential care to those who need it.
Closed for all routine testing for the foreseeable future, Specsavers at 31 Market Street is focused on helping those in the community during the Coronavirus lockdown. The team has been out delivering specs, and even provided a special Easter treat to one elderly couple.
A word from the store director
‘We called the couple to say their specs were ready and that we’d be delivering them that afternoon,’ says Specsavers Ashby store director, Kuljinder Bains. ‘They were thrilled that we were dropping them off before Easter so we decided to include an Easter egg as well. They’re self isolating so it was lovely to see their faces after we’d left the specs and chocolate on their doorstep.
‘It goes without saying that things are pretty challenging at the moment but what it’s also showing me, is the power of the local community and how people are pulling together to help. We’re keen to do our bit where we can and I’d like to say a big thank you to my team for how they’ve been able to adapt. We’ve been out safely delivering specs to our customers but are also open to see urgent cases in store, particularly where a keyworker is affected.’
