Dressing up for life-limited children
The team at Specsavers in Carmarthen donned fancy dress costumes to raise more than £400 for the Welsh children’s hospice, Tŷ Hafan.
Customers were treated to a spectacle when staff greeted them in outfits inspired by the decade they were born. Among them was a 60s-inspired psychedelic hippy and 90s video game character, Lara Croft.
The team also raffled a luxury hamper, raising £409 in total for its charity of the year.
‘We’re thrilled to have raised this sum of money for Tŷ Hafan,’ said Beverly Rees, store manager.
‘We had such fun digging out forgotten fashions from our decade of birth, which our customers really appreciated.
‘Our efforts won’t stop here though. We already have a number of other activities planned to continue our support for Tŷ Hafan in hope that we can significantly add to the money we’ve already raised. I’d like to say a big thank you to our local community who helped us to reach this figure.’
