Arbroath member of staff raises funds for Beating Bowel Cancer
The Arbroath store’s principle optometrist, Ian Morris, has raised £160 for the charity Beating Bowel Cancer.
Ian raised funds and awareness of the great work the charity carries out by growing a beard during its ‘Decembeard’ campaign.
Ian said: ‘It was a real privilege to take part in Beating Bowl Cancer’s campaign. My growing beard certainly was a talking point with both staff and customers at the store.
‘The charity hoped to raise £500,000 with 5,000 men taking part – I’m very pleased to have contributed towards its goal.’
Beating Bowel Cancer is the support and campaigning charity for anyone affected by bowel cancer.
The charity offers practical and emotional support, with the funds raised contributing towards a range of services it provides.
Beating Bowel Cancer also aims to raise awareness of the disease as more than 90 per cent of cases could be treated successfully if diagnosed early, yet it is the UK’s second biggest cancer killer.
