Specsavers Telford is celebrating after two of its apprentices graduated with distinction.
Henna Besharat and Hope Collins, both 18, have completed their lab and optical retail apprenticeships respectively, each passing with flying colours. They are now continuing to work at the store; Henna as a trainee dispensing optician and Hope as an optical assistant.
The store is passionate about supporting those looking to either start their career in optics but don’t want to go down the traditional classroom environment, as well as people who might have more experience in the sector but want to complement their existing skill set.
‘We’re extremely proud of Henna and Hope as they both worked really hard and thoroughly deserve their distinction results,’ said Karina Protheroe, administrative manager at Specsavers Telford. ‘We’ve now had a total of six apprentices qualify at the store and currently have another who’s currently on the optical and admin retail course. Apprenticeships are such a great way to learn on the job and get valuable experience with a qualification at the end.
‘The Specsavers apprenticeship programmes are a fantastic way to begin a rewarding and successful career, and our training has been viewed as best in the sector by Ofsted. As long as you’re a hard worker, punctual and ambitious, you will do well and there is plenty of opportunity to continue with your development.’
