Christmas is looking a little brighter for disadvantaged children all over the world thanks to the generosity of Leominster locals and Specsavers.
The team appealed to the local community for donations of gift-filled shoeboxes, acting as a drop-off point for Operation Christmas Child. With the collection now finished, the team were thrilled to receive more than 60 boxes which have been sent to youngsters around the world to help make their Christmas more special.
A word from the store director
Store director, Eira Morris, said: ‘This is the first year we’ve been a collection point for Operation Christmas Child and we’ve been heartened by the response from local people. For most of us, Christmas is a happy, present-filled time spent with loved ones but there are also children for who it is not such a happy time. Hopefully the presents will go some way to bringing them a little festive cheer and we’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who made a donation.’
