Antrim store raises vital funds for Children in Need
The Antrim store has raised a total of £367.00 for Children in Need through a recent fundraising event held at the store. The entire store team donned their best onesies in place of their usual staff uniforms and contributed £1 each to the overall fundraising total.
Pudsey the Bear even stopped by to have a sight test completed and was there to meet and greet everyone who visited the store on the day. There was a face painter, balloon modeller and lots of brilliant prizes were on offer, including a pair of designer glasses, which were won by Roisin Brazier.
Happy prize winners
Children were also invited to guess the number of sweets in a jar for 50 pence per guess. Aidan McIlwee aged eight, was the winner on the day and went home with the delicious jar of sweets. Adults and children alike were invited to guess the name of the teddy bear – a large Pudsey Bear - for a cost of £1 per guess. Ellie Lambert was the excited recipient of Pudsey.
In addition, staff had also baked plenty of homemade treats and goodies which were sold throughout the day, again with all proceeds going towards the store’s overall total.
Store director, Davin Quinn, said: ‘The family fun day was a brilliant day in store, children and parents alike enjoyed themselves immensely, and I think that can be reflected by the amount of money we raised. I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along and donated on the day.
We are delighted to be adding this total of £367 to funds that we raised earlier in the year meaning that we have collectively now raised over £420 for the charity. The community support for anything that we do has always been great, and we really appreciate every penny that is donated.’
