Specsavers Petersfield team has celebrated its second year of testing the eyes of local residents by raising precious funds for Blind Veterans UK. The opticians marked the anniversary with a day of celebration on Saturday 5 July for its staff and customers.
£1 per eye test to Blind Veterans UK
The store donated £1 from each eye examination carried out during the anniversary week to Blind Veterans UK.
On the Saturday staff joined in the birthday fun by decorating the store and holding a cake sale to raise funds for wounded servicemen and women.
In total the store raised £191.37.
A great way to give back
Jo Cox, store director of Petersfield Specsavers says: ‘We have had a fantastic two years and we have loved serving Petersfield residents during that time.
Our anniversary celebration was a great way to give something back to our customers who have supported us since we started.
Jo continues: ‘Blind Veterans UK is a fantastic charity, and our staff were all very excited to raise money for them during our anniversary week. On behalf of everyone at the store I’d like to say how wonderful it has been for us, being part of such a vibrant local community.’
Supporting local causes
Following their second anniversary the store will be undertaking a series of fundraising initiatives over the coming months to help local causes.
