Opticians in Ammanford have raised more than £270 by getting ‘funny for money’ in support of Red Nose Day.

Funny for money

As part of its fundraising activities, Specsavers staff in the town have made their faces funny for money with official Red Nose Day glasses in small or large sizes, for just £3 with £1 donated direct to Comic Relief.

Staff at the Quay Street store have also held bake sales, dressed in red head-to-toe and collected gifts from the local community for a raffle. Prizes included a £50 sunglasses voucher, gift sets, a beauty treatment gift cards, wine and champagne.

Specsavers in Ammanford joined Specsavers stores nationwide to support Comic Relief to help poor and vulnerable people living tough lives both here in the UK and across Africa.

Fun working together

Kevin McCarthy, store director of Specsavers in Ammanford, said: ‘Our fundraising activities have all been promoting fun at the store and it’s been great to get local businesses as well as our customers involved too.

The addition of Specsavers’ bright red comedy glasses with hair raising eyebrows, have been a very welcome addition to our store.’
