Specsavers in Allerton has raised over £170 for the UK’s armed forces following a series of events held recently in store.
Staff at Specsavers on Allerton Road in Liverpool sold poppy seeds, raffled prizes donated by local businesses and staged a ‘guess how many soldiers’ game, all inspired by Armed Forces Week. The Allerton Road team also wore khaki and green face paint in honour of the cause.
Aiming to raise awareness of the contribution made to our country by those who serve in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces, the Specsavers team and their customers also used the events to show their support for veterans and families.
Opportunity for us to come together
Store director at Specsavers in Allerton, Zoe Morris, comments: ‘Armed Forces Day is an opportunity for us to come together as a nation and salute those in Service. Many of our staff and customers have a real affinity with the aims of the cause and so we were delighted to lend our support.
‘We’re extremely proud to have been a part of the campaign to increase awareness and raise money for our Armed Forces, thanks to our loyal customers, and the generosity of local businesses that donated prizes.’
Joining passionate people up and down the country, the Specsavers team recognised and celebrated the commitment, dedication and courage of our Armed Forces during the annual event which takes place every June.
