All eyes on West Bromwich as special guests open new opticians
Specsavers in West Bromwich has welcomed football legend, Cyrille Regis, to cut the ribbon at the official opening of its bigger and better store at the New Square complex.
The store moved from Unit 8, 70 Kings Square, Sandwell Shopping Centre to Unit 13 at the New Square complex on Wednesday 14 January, 2015.
The new store boasts 12 optical test rooms and a dedicated hearing centre with two hearcare test rooms. It’s fully kitted out with all the latest equipment including a high-tech digital retinal camera that helps with the early detection of conditions like glaucoma, by taking a picture of the back of the eye. The store will also use the latest software in optical technology, iHarmony, to link with the store’s iPads, making the process of dispensing specs smoother and quicker.
Majid Jawaid, store director, said: ‘We’re all very excited about the new store and have enjoyed celebrating with local football legend, Cyrille Regis who signed autographs and chatted to customers. We also had great fun with Hayley-Jo Whitney, the short-sighted fitness instructor from Specsavers’ national TV campaign. It was great to welcome families into the store with balloon modelers and face painters. We hope our customers enjoyed the celebrations as much as we did.’
New Square is West Bromwich’s newest shopping and leisure destination. It opened in summer 2013 and is right in the heart of West Bromwich. It’s easy to access with plenty of car parking and great transport links.
Steve Burr, Centre Manager at New Square commented: ‘New Square is proud to be the new home for Specsavers in West Bromwich. The bigger and better store has the latest state of the art testing equipment as well as enhanced services, which will be of great benefit to our shoppers - another fantastic tenant for the shopping centre.’
