Birmingham Children’s Hospital oncology ward is set to benefit as Specsavers in Tamworth take part in the We Love Tamworth event on 3 September.
Members of staff will be welcoming customers and passers-by to their stall in the castle grounds during the day-long ‘summer extravaganza’. With face-painting and goodie bags for children, and free hearing and sight tests for adults, there will be plenty on offer for the whole family.
A lot to celebrate
‘The whole team are looking forward to celebrating everything great about Tamworth,’ explained store director, Lisa Large. ‘Last year’s event was a great success so we’re hoping to see a great turn out in September.’
The team will be on hand to give expert advice on optical and hearing issues, and customers will be able to pick up gift vouchers and discount coupons for sight tests and frames throughout the day. Lucky visitors will also be able to enter a balloon prize draw with tickets inside each balloon.
All proceeds from the stall, including the prize draw and face-painting, will be donated to the Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
Lisa continued: ‘We have supported the hospital for some time now and it really is a cause close to our hearts. A number of our staff have loved ones and friends who have been treated there, and so we jumped at the chance to give something back.
Tamworth has a lot to celebrate, and this festival sets out to do just that – with fairground rides and stalls, Tamworth’s Strongest Man competition and the Amington Brass Band, there really is something for everyone. So why not come along and see the sights from 11am-4pm, not forgetting to stop by the Specsavers stall and make a contribution to their worthwhile fundraising efforts.
