A team member from Specsavers in Alfreton is taking on two big challenges to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
Walking for charity
John Ingram, a dispensing assistant at Specsavers on Institute Lane is planning to tackle two endurance walks this year, taking donations for the charity.
John’s first walk will be the very hilly Peak District Challenge, taking place in Derbyshire on 14 July. The route is 100 miles and includes 2450m of ascent.
In September, the walking boots will be back on as John tackles the Thames Path Challenge, a 100km route from Putney Bridge to Henley.
Thank you for your support
‘Cancer Research UK is an amazing charity, close to the hearts of many people,’ he said. ‘I’m really thankful to everyone who has already supported me in my fundraising efforts this year.’
Specsavers store director, David Chatten, said: ‘This is a charity that means a lot to us, and many of our customers. We’re really proud of John, who’s also celebrating ten years as part of the Specsavers team, for taking on these challenges and we want to invite our customers and community to really get behind him.’
