Airdrie store offers advice on keeping eyes safe this summer
Locals in Airdrie are being urged to ensure their eyes are well protected over the summer months. Eyecare experts at Specsavers in the towns are offering their top tips for ensuring your eyes are protected from harmful UV rays – whether at home or abroad.
A word of advice from the store director
Andrew McGonagle, store director at Specsavers in Airdrie, said: ‘It’s so important to protect your eyes from the sun’s rays. ‘UV rays can cause irritation and, in extreme cases, lead to serious conditions such as cancer of the cornea and cataracts.
That’s why we encourage customers to choose sunglasses which bear the CE kite mark, indicated by a label with the mark UV 400. Anyone can pop into the store to speak to our team about the best sunglasses options for them.’
