The Ayr team managed to raise £200 for sight charity RNIB by completing a hike up an 884m mountain near Loch Long in Argyllshire.
Six staff members from the High Street store took part in the charity walk, which saw them climb The Cobbler, one of the most impressive summits found in the Southern Highlands.
Small steps for a big cause
The fundraiser is part of the store’s ongoing annual charity campaign raising money for RNIB, which will culminate this September with one brave member of the team taking part in a sponsored parachute jump.
Linda Fulton, store director at Specsavers in Ayr, said: ‘At Specsavers, we have always had a strongly supported the valuable work of the RNIB.
Ongoing commitment to charity
‘We decided to play our part to support this charity’s vital research this year through small competitions in store such as counting the sweets in a jar, all the way to challenging acts of kindness set by our team such as the recent hike up the Cobbler raising over £600 so far this year.
‘I’m extremely proud of all the team members who made it to the very top of the mountain itself and raised such a fantastic amount towards our ongoing charity goal for the year.'
