Acomb teams cycling success raises vital funds
Specsavers in Acomb got into the charity spirit and recently raised just under £200 in the process for Children in Need.
The team at Specsavers in Acomb committed to cycling a total distance of 170 miles (274 kilometres), the distance from St Bee’s Head to Robin Hood’s Bay. With every single member of the Specsavers team getting involved, two customers also rose to the challenge and helped the team clock up an extra few miles.
To help bump up fundraising efforts, the team also hosted a bake sale and a guess the number of sweets in a jar competition.
Deryck Watts, store director at Specsavers in Acomb, said: ‘The team were all so excited to throw themselves into fundraising, I’m really proud of the fact that they all got involved and did a few miles each.
‘I’d just like to say a huge thank you to our generous customers for making another one of our fundraising events so successful.’
