The team at Wells Specsavers celebrated the Queen’s 90th birthday in style with a patriotic-themed event.
Staff sported red, white and blue outfits and decked the store in flags and balloons to commemorate the special occasion.
A prize raffle raised £116 to support the store’s chosen charity, Guide Dogs.
Long term charity partner
‘We decided we’d like to do something to celebrate Her Majesty’s 90th birthday, while raising money for our favourite charity,’ said store director, Nic Johns. ‘Our customers appreciated our efforts and we were delighted to raise additional funds that will help to support blind and visually impaired people across Somerset. We’ve been supporting the charity for many years, and local guide dog puppies are frequent visitors to the store.’
Specsavers has an ongoing partnership with Guide Dogs and has raised over £270,000 across its UK stores to pay for the breeding and training costs of 25 guide dog pups. The charity provides mobility and freedom to blind and partially sighted people. It also campaigns for the rights of people with visual impairment, educates the public about eyecare and funds eye disease research.
