The team at Specsavers Ledbury baked up a storm on Red Nose Day (Friday 24 March), raising £354 for Comic Relief.

Customers visiting the store were asked for donations to sample some of the sweet treats on offer which had been baked by staff, while a ‘guess the number of maltesers in a jar’ competition helped boost the fundraising total further.

The team also wore Red Nose Day t-shirts and the official comedy waving hand Red Nose Day specs.  The specs were also available to buy, in adult and children’s sizes, and those that did were encouraged to post photos on social media using #giveusawave.

‘We all had great fun getting into the fundraising spirit and our customers seemed to enjoy themselves too,’ said store director John Roberts.

‘The comedy specs went down really well and were flying off the shelves. A big thank you to everyone who came down and showed their support.’

Specsavers in Ledbury joined Specsavers stores nationwide to support Comic Relief to help poor and vulnerable people living tough lives both here in the UK and across Africa and pledged to raise at least £250,000 for the charity.
