Maidenhead opticians do their bit for local children’s hospice
The optical in Specsavers' Maidenhead store took part in a week of fundraising for the Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service.
From 5 – 12 July the team sold raffle tickets to children to raise funds for the charity, with a selection of Moshi Monsters prizes up for grabs, including Moshi Monsters glasses. Staff in the store also did their best Mary Berry impersonation by hosting a bake sale for customers.
Support for Maidenhead children
Lynne Stokes, store director said: ‘We’re honoured to be supporting the Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service. ‘It’s a charity that we feel very passionate about and we thought it would be a good idea to get other children involved by hosting the raffle and bake sale.’
Fiona Devine, from the Hospice said: ‘It’s fantastic to have a local store supporting the Hospice Service with a raffle and cake bake sale. We really are very grateful for all the support of Specsavers. They are a fun and motivated team to work with and we look forward to the rest of our partnership with them.’
Continuing to fund raise for the worthy cause
There are a number of events planned from now until the end of the year to continue its fundraising activity on behalf of the charity.
