The annual Rathmore Golf Club fundraising golf day, sponsored by the local Specsavers store and hearing centre, Coleraine, for the ninth year running, was yet another huge success.

Taking place on Monday 5 May, £2,286 was raised this year for the well-known golf club.

Worthy event

Judith Ball, store director, Specsavers, Coleraine, says: ‘We see the Rathmore fundraising golf day as an extremely worthy event and one that we are delighted to be associated with, and have continued to be associated with for the last nine years. ‘We work hard with Rathmore Golf Club to raise awareness of the annual golf day, in order to raise as much money as possible for facilities at the golf club.’

Home-grown talent

Judith adds: ‘It is fantastic to see so many young home-grown golfers doing so well on the global stage, in recent years, and this highlights the importance of supporting local golf and sporting clubs across Northern Ireland. Through the continued support of the local community that the clubs, like Rathmore Golf Club, can be maintained and allow for local talent to shine. The support this year was simply outstanding, and we look forward to the 2015 event.’

Judith presented the winners with their prizes at the Rathmore Golf Club, Portrush, on Thursday 8 May. Over the last nine years Specsavers store and hearing centre, Coleraine, has raised in excess of £17,000 for this worthy cause. Judith would also like to take this opportunity to thank the members of Rathmore Golf Club for all their continued support throughout the year.
