Specsavers in Burton is supporting a project being organised by the Burton Albion Community Trust (BACT).
The store is sponsoring Scott Taylor (25), a football coach, who is making the trip to Ghana with 17 other volunteers to work with two schools. The ten day trip runs from 26 May until 6 June.
‘I’m really looking forward to visiting the village called Woe in Ghana and working with the local children there,’ said Scott, who has worked for the BACT since it was first established three years ago. ‘I’m incredibly grateful to Specsavers for their support with this initiative – and it’s fantastic that the whole team at the store are getting behind the project with a fundraising day.’
Burton Albion Community Trust (BACT) is a registered charity and award winning organisation. It delivers programmes across five main themes: participation, social inclusion, disability, education and health. The money raised through the Ghana trip will not only support those communities in Africa but also the local Burton community through the above programmes.
