Abbeycentre Specsavers is once again backing the popular Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice 5K Rabbit Run and 1 Mile Bunny Hop event.
Fancy dress for Easter
Over 400 walkers and runners will don their Easter fancy dress costumes as they run, walk or hop their way around Hazelbank Park, Newtownabbey on Sunday 5th April.
Monies raised helps to care for babies and children
Northern Ireland Hospice’s dedicated children’s unit, Horizon House, is located just a few miles from Hazelbank Park and cares for more than 370 babies and children each year, offering supported short stays, palliative and end-of-life care. Northern Ireland Hospice also cares for babies and children in the community, right across Northern Ireland, through their team of 5 specialist nurses.
Get a medal with a virtual run
If people can’t make it on the day, event organisers are also offering a virtual run where runners can run anywhere at any time, at their own pace, and still receive one of the fabulous and quirky Rabbit Run medals.
Wonderful atmosphere for friends and families
Tony McGinn, optometry director at Specsavers said: ‘We’ve supported this fabulous event for several years as well as taken part and we’re thrilled to once again be part of the action and help the Children’s Hospice raise some much-needed cash.
‘The Rabbit Run has a wonderful atmosphere as families and friends of all ages come together to challenge themselves and enjoy the craic running or walking together.’
