Specsavers in East Kilbride celebrated 25 years of caring for the sight of people in the town with a spectacular birthday celebration in store.

The store in the East Kilbride Shopping Centre held a birthday party on Saturday 8 November to mark the important quarter-of-a-century milestone.

Birthday celebrations
A face painter was on hand for the kids, and staff baked up a storm and offered customers complimentary cakes and goody bags.

The store will also offered 25 per cent off single pairs of glasses purchased on the day, and visitors were also invited to enter a competition to win one of 10 pairs of designer specs, worth a combined £1,250.

In addition, there was a 25th anniversary commemorative cake, cut by customers who were also turning 25 and members of staff who have been with the store since it opened in East Kilbride in 1989.

Landmark milestone
Shirley-Ann Kennedy, director of Specsavers East Kilbride, said: ‘We’re very proud of the fact that we’ve been looking after the sight of people in East Kilbride for 25 years.

‘The store has evolved a lot over the years, in fact almost one year ago we moved to bigger, better premises, but our commitment to providing a first class service has remained the same.

‘25 years really has passed in the blink of an eye and we would like to thank all of our customers for their continued support.’
