Witney Specsavers store manager, Richard Goring, will be returning to Africa to help provide vital eyecare to local people.
Richard will be heading back to Zambia this month (24 February). The trip is being organised in partnership with Vision Aid Overseas (VAO), a charity which Richard has supported since 2013, already undertaking four visits to help provide eyecare in remote African towns.
Helping those in need
Alongside training staff in optical centres to provide the latest services in eyecare, Richard will also be helping people in more remote locations, carrying out eye examinations and supplying specs to those who need them but don’t have access to such necessities.
‘That first visit to Africa with VAO really opened my eyes to just how important the work is that the charity does and the difference it can make, so since then I’ve been hooked and have found the trips immensely humbling and satisfying,’ said Richard.
Please keep on giving
‘Thanks to all those who have supported me and the charity through these visits and for everyone that has either fundraised or donated old specs for the charity. Without their efforts, these trips wouldn’t be possible – depriving thousands for people from the proper eyecare they need. Please keep on giving!’
