Get to know your local opticians in Peterlee
The Peterlee store has been a familiar sight in the town centre for seventeen years.
The Castle Dene Shopping Centre store now has 16 members of staff - three of whom were part of the team of seven who opened the store back in 1999.
With three eye-testing rooms the store’s opticians can carry out more than 1,000 eye tests every month. Customers have a great choice of colours, styles and sizes of frames.
The store displays over one thousand different types to appeal to all tastes and budgets.
Customer service and helping people understand the importance of eye health is a real priority for the team at Peterlee and, to make it easy for customers to get to the store at a convenient time, it is open seven days a week.
A word from the store director
Eric Thompson, director of Specsavers in Peterlee, said: ‘We work really hard to help our customers – and potential customers – learn more about eye health. There’s a really wide range of conditions that we can pick up through an eye examination and we encourage customers to have a regular eye check-up in much the same way they would make a point of visiting the dentist regularly.
‘We’ve got a brilliant, friendly team here with over 134 years of combined optical experience and now that we’re open on Sundays, between 10am and 4pm, we would encourage even more people to book an eye test with us as part of their normal healthcare routine.’
