Would a hearing aid help a teacher in a busy classroom?
I am a teacher and although my hearing seems fine away from the classroom when I am teaching the background noise in the room seems amplified and I struggle to hear students clearly who are only a few feet away. Would a hearing aid benefit?
Answer:
As you report that your hearing appears normal away from work? and your only difficulties are in the background noise of the classroom, it is unlikely that you have a significant hearing loss which could benefit from hearing aids. That said, if you have concerns over your hearing, you should discuss it with you GP who can determine if a referral for a full hearing assessment is required.
