Will hearing aids help me in noisy environments?

I recently had a hearing test and it was found that my hearing in both ears was around 10-20 dB but in the high frequencies it was around 40dB. I find it challenging to hear people talking especially in noisy environments. Would hearing aids be able to help me with hearing better?

Answer:

The hearing loss you describe is perhaps the most common one found in those with hearing impairment. It is no surprise that you find noisy environments the most challenging. Many many people with a similar loss to yourself gain significant benefit from the use of hearing aids, particularly in those noisy environments. I would advise you to have a chat with your local audiologist who can talk to you about the different hearing aid options available.
