What causes an eye to become watery and how can it be treated?
Watery eyes are often caused by an increase in the product of tears. It can occur in one eye or both.
Watering eyes are usually caused by either overproduction of tears due to irritation in the eye, allergies or sometimes due to an obstruction of the drainage system which results in an overflow of tears.
If you notice that your eyes are unusually watery, book an appointment with your optician.
If this occurs when wearing contact leneses remove your contact lens and contact your local Specsavers store. If it is outside normal business hours, seek medical advice.
