Not suitable for hearing aids but what can I do?

My husband is in his 30s and has had his hearing tested in one of your Centres this morning. There is some deterioration to his hearing in addition to him suffering from tinnitus. Apparently his hearing loss isn't at a level where hearing aids would help the problem but I was wondering if there was anything that could help.

Answer:

There are many people who have some difficulties with their hearing, particularly in noisier environments, but whose hearing loss does not yet warrant the use of hearing aids as they may not be particularly beneficial. There are various tactics that can be used to assist them in this situation. Many websites, such as Deafness Research UK, give lots of advice on communication tactics for people with hearing impairment.
