Ask the expert

If I have a hearing test, can I then take my prescription to any hearing specialist - as happens after an eye test?

Answer:

Hearing prescriptions do not work in the same way as eye tests and it would be very unusual for an audiologist to accept results from a test which they have not conducted themselves. As hearing tests are conducted free of charge by most audiologists, this is not usually a barrier to people seeking help with their hearing difficulties.
