Ask the expert

I have had a hearing aid for years, can I upgrade to a digital? If so do I still need to contact my GP?

Answer:

The vast majority of hearing aid users in the UK now have digital hearing aids rather than the old analogue ones. If you are one of the very few which do not have digital hearing aids, contact your GP and ask to be referred to your local Hearing Centre for a new assessment. It may now be possible to get them on the high street rather than going to a hospital. Check your address on our website to see if this service is available in your local area.
