How is diabetic retinopathy treated?

The main treatment involves using a laser, in a process called photocoagulation.

The laser seals up the tiny blood vessels in the retina, at the back of the eye that can become 'leaky' thanks to diabetes.

This leakage of fluid from these vessels can interfere with vision.
