Do I need a hearing aid for both ears?

I recently had a hearing aid fitted for my left ear. My right ear isn't so bad but I feel a bit lopsided when I'm wearing my aid. Should I go back and ask about one for my right ear?

Answer:

Many people report a feeling of imbalance or being lopsided when wearing a hearing aid in one ear. Whilst the vast majority of hearing impaired people have a similar level of loss in both ears, some will perceive one ear to be better than the other. The wearing of a hearing aid in one ear often makes the wearer notice the loss in the other ear more than they would otherwise.? Our advice would be return to see your local audiologist and discuss the possibility of an aid for your right ear.
