Could I have mud from Glastonbury trapped in my ear?

After returning from Glastonbury my right ear began to hurt. I got covered in mud over the weekend and I?m worried I have some trapped in my ear. What should I do and could it permanently damage my hearing? The pain in my ear seems to be getting worse.

Answer:

For any type of ear pain, your first course of action should be to visit your GP or a local NHS Walk-In Centre. Whilst it is unlikely that mud would get trapped in your ear, it is possible that bacteria could cause an ear infection which should be investigated by a medical professional.
