Glaucoma is a common eye condition that can damage the optic nerve (which connects
the eye to the brain). It often happens when pressure builds up within the eye and, left
undetected and untreated, it can lead to loss of vision. The problem is that glaucoma doesn’t
usually have any symptoms until quite late on, when it starts to affect your vision.
Working with Glaucoma UK
We work closely with the charity Glaucoma UK to help raise awareness of glaucoma and avoid preventable sight loss caused by the disease.
Our collaborations have included specialist glaucoma training for Specsavers colleagues, so our teams can help people with glaucoma manage their condition – specifically helping people use eye drops.
