Specsavers: the first dedicated optical retailer to launch gift vouchers

November 2013

Specsavers is the first dedicated optical retailer to launch gift vouchers to the UK market. They can be purchased online or in store and are now available in denominations of £1 to £250, all on one convenient gift card. They can be used to pay for eye tests, accessories as well as glasses, designer eyewear, lenses and coatings from any of the 700 UK Specsavers stores.

They have been launched to meet a growing demand to be able to buy eyecare as a gift. These are directed at customers who may want to use the gift cards to help their loved ones with their everyday eyecare costs, or to help them buy something extra special.

The gift vouchers have been developed with flexibility in mind. They can be purchased in store or online. Recipients have the freedom to use part of the amount across a number of different transactions. And they can be redeemed against any eyewear goods and services from any Specsavers store.

The fact that the amount is all loaded onto one convenient gift card means an end to a number of loose vouchers in varying denominations that might get lost. The customer can even check the balance on their card when they go into any store.

Paul Askew, customer services and telemarketing manager, said: ‘As the UK's leading optical retailer, stocking a multitude of fashionable frames, its only right that we offer our customers the ability to give a voucher as a present in the same way they would expect from any high street fashion store. These gift cards are flexible, easy to purchase and easy to use.’

The gift vouchers are available now, and can be used to take advantage of any of the money-saving offers from Specsavers.
