SGA Technologies manufactures high specification components for the aerospace industry. A key customer and certification driven requirement for this work is that all inspection staff must have a yearly eye test. SGA implemented eyecare vouchers from Specsavers Corporate Eyecare to help comply with not only this requirement, but also their internal requirements for VDU users and prescription safety glass requirement.
Optical Care eVouchers from Specsavers Corporate Eyecare provided the perfect solution.
The eVouchers provide a full eye examination and a pair of glasses if needed. SGA Technologies were also able to take advantage of the eVoucher system to administer their eyecare policy. The online portal launched last year means the whole eyecare system is completely paperless from the initial order right through to redemption. What’s more, there is an audit trail of which staff member has received an eVoucher, had an eye test and even when their next eyetest is scheduled.
The eVoucher system provides SGA Technologies with an audit trail of the eyesight tests for every member of staff. Paul Game, financial director for SGA Technologies said: ‘For this particular project it was important for us to have complete control of the eyesight-testing process. To have an online record of which staff had had their eyes tested and when the test was carried out was imperative; the audit trail was key for us to comply with the stringent certification requirements of the aerospace projects. On top of this, the system is user-friendly and feedback has been very positive.’
Marc Newton, sales account advisor for Specsavers Corporate Eyecare said: ‘It was really important that the solution we offered met SGA Technologies’ specific needs, and the eVoucher system was perfect for them to monitor the status of their policy. eVouchers have proved incredibly popular and this shows how important it can be for companies to have clear online reporting.’
The Optical Care eVouchers provide a full eye examination, and if needed, a pair of glasses from the £45 range, or a £45 contribution towards other frame ranges or lens options. If corrective glasses are not needed, a pair of non-prescription sunglasses from a selected range are provided.
Premium Club is built into every Optical Care eVoucher and offers a further £20 contribution when glasses are selected from the £99 range or above, thus giving a combined contribution of £65.
