Contact lenses

Do you sell all contact lenses?

We sell all major brands plus equivalents for all the main UK opticians own brands. If you cannot see the name of your contact lenses on our site, we probably sell them under a different name. For example, in the Daily Disposable section, Specsavers easyvision One Day lenses are the same as Boots own brand daily lens. If you can't find your lenses, please contact our Customer Service Department on 0808 172 00 72 or email customerservice@specsavers.co.uk and we’ll find them for you.

Can I change to a different type of contact lens?

No. Under General Optical Council regulations, we can only supply you with the lenses specified on your current specification. If you want to try a different type, you must ask your optician for a new specification. Please contact our Customer Service Departmenton 0808 172 00 72 or email customerservice@specsavers.co.uk for more details.

Is there a minimum number of lenses I have to order?

Yes. For monthly, continuous, toric, varifocal and coloured lenses you must buy at least 6 pairs of lenses (equivalent to 6 months supply based on usual wear). For daily disposables, the minimum number is 90 pairs (equivalent to 3 months supply based on usual wear).

Is there a maximum number of lenses I can order?

Yes. Regulations governing the dispensing of contact lenses means that we can’t supply you with contact lenses beyond the expiry date on your current specification.

What is a valid contact lens specification?

A valid contact lens specification is one that has been issued by a registered optician or contact lens practitioner and which has not exceeded its expiry date. It will detail the full contact lens specification, including the manufacturer, type of lens, base curve, diameter and the powers. If you are a Specsavers customer we will obtain your specification from our records. If you are not an existing Specsavers customer, you must register your optician’s details with us, and we will verify your specification with them.

How do I get my contact lens specification?

Just ask the optician who issued your contact lens specification - they are required by law to provide it for you. Please request the original specification where possible, not a copy.

What if I do not have a contact lens specification?

We cannot supply you with contact lenses unless you have a valid contact lens specification. You should contact your optician to arrange for a check-up – which may be chargeable. You may also need a sight test and this may again be chargeable. We can easily make these arrangements with your nearest Specsavers store. Just click “Book an appointment” in the main menu.

Can I use my spectacles prescription to buy contact lenses?

No. We can only accept a full contact lens specification for contact lenses. If you have never worn contact lenses before, or you don't have a copy of your specification, just contact our Customer Service Department on 0808 172 00 72 or email customerservice@specsavers.co.uk. We will discuss your requirements with you and advise accordingly.
