My eyesight in my left eye feels like it is deteriorating rapidly. I wear glasses and contact lenses and my last eye test was only a few months ago, however at various times of the day my vision is completely blurred in my left eye. I had laser eye surgery around eight years ago but eyes have been slowly going back to my old prescription. Wearing my glasses if I close my right eye and look at this screen it is a fuzzy blur. Sometimes during the day it feels OK but mostly the vision is blurred. Could it be damage from the surgery causing this?
Qualified optometrist Simon Kay BSc(Hons) MCOptom answers this question.
It may be something to do with the laser surgery, but there are no definite recorded problems so many years after surgery. There is a reason why the vision is blurred and is changing rapidly and you need to have this investigated. The first step is to see your optometrist again and depending on what is found you may need referring for specialist opinion. The added complication is your contact lens wear which may be affecting the cornea in some way and causing the blurred vision. Either way your optometrist is the first step.
