Rigid gas permeable contact lens problems

I have been wearing gas permeable contact lenses for more than 20 years and they have been very comfortable. I usually wear them all day.
Recently, I had a new prescription and had a new pair of contact lenses fitted. They felt good for the first 2 months or so but my left eye started to have problem of focusing both near and far. I don't have the same problems with my glasses.
So, I went back to the optician to have the contact lenses checked but nothing was found.
I still have the same problem and don't want to wear the contact lenses much.
What is the problem? Should I have another eye test?

I'm afraid it's not possible to offer much advice on this sort of question in a forum such as this. You will definitely need another contact lens check and possibly another sight test. I don;t k now how old you are bit if you're in your 40s that could be complicating matters as your prescription can start to change, especially for reading.

We recommend you seek professional advice if you are concerned about your eye health:
