Question

Hi, I work with people who are blind or partially sighted and have recently heard two references to an individuals level of eyesight as being - 10 (minus 10)

I am guessing this is with reference to a prescription and would appreciate it if you would be able to clarify its meaning.

Optician's Biography

Seamus Breslin BSc (Hons) MCOptom graduated from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology in 1986 and qualified as an Optometrist in 1987. He joined Specsavers 21 years ago and is currently the Director of three Specsavers Optical and Hearcare practices.
