My child gets headaches and sore eyes on the computer

My daughter is 12 sometimes she complains of headaches and sore eyes after using the computer ...she uses the computer for about an hour a day.......I'm sure she has 20/20 vision but is there such thing as computer glasses for children and do you think they would be necessary?

Answer Written answer:

Although you think she has normal vision, she may still need a correction because she may be longsighted or have astigmatism which will cause the headaches.  Computer screens tend to exaggerate the condition and make it more apparent.  She may need glasses for normal reading as well.  Get her eyes examined at your optometrist as soon as you are able.

We recommend you seek professional advice if you are concerned about your eye health:
